Essential Institute is the latest incarnation of Cris Bolívar Consulting, an organisation founded in 1992 by Cris Bolívar.
Focused on personal, organisational and social transformation, it develops spirituality, conscience and wisdom from an Essential standpoint that transcends the ego and harnesses the full potential of the Self. The Institute develops training programmes and projects aimed at developing this Essence. Its international outlook is reflected in the partnerships with various countries where it collaborates with several organisations in different sectors.

We collaborate with several Barcelona Activa programmes, including Activa’t per l’Ocupació, which has been awarded the Best Practices Certificate in the Public Sector category of the European Awards, and in the “Delivering intelligent services in a Cold Economic Climate» category, by the Public Administration European Institute. Key projects undertaken
- Managed the Integral Coach Training Programme and the Integral Essential Coaching Training Programme for Teachers.
- Co-managed the «Essential Coaching and Internal Wisdom» course organised by Arrese Coaching and the Huarte Foundation in San Juan for promoting Pscyhology.
- Managed the Expert Course in Coaching of the Hune Institute (Humanities and Business), Madrid. (ACSTH Programme pending ACTP certification by the ICF).
- Prepared agents of change and skill development in the technical-level project for innovation and change of the educational system by the Education Ministry in El Salvador.
- Managed high-level organisational and coaching development projects.
- Designed and offered programmes for emotional skill development (University of Barcelona, Les Heures, Joyco, Akzo Nobel, etc.).
- Collaborated in the LEAD teaching innovation project for developing leadership skills, in the team coached by Richard Boyatzis [1], Esade (MBA, EMBA, etc.).
- Developed emotional intelligence in teams, departments (sales, administrative, human resources, IT, finance, production, etc.) and organisations in conflict situations and development, transformation and organisational change processes.
- Offered executive/coach training in numerous Spanish and international organisations.
- Designed the skill skystem for the Department of Education of the Catalonian Government.
- Drafted skill dictionaries and designed skill development and evaluation systems.
- Designed and rolled out civil service examination systems aiming to create a new system which is truly effective but works withing the constraints of a public administration examination process (Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Pompeu Fabra University, etc.)
- Facilitated career transitions in large, countrywide groups (La Caixa, etc.).
- Organised various value-driven management and cultural change projects.
- Public tender consulting project for the joint declaration of corporate values and the competence-based management in the framework of Value-Driven Management, for the Consorci Sanitari Integral.
- Actions aimed at change management, team building and leadership enhancement of faculty and academic teams in various universities.
- Design and implementation of various workshops in the University of Barcelona – Les Heures Business Management Seminar Programme.
- Development of competence development programmes in the academic environment, for GROP (Pedagogy-Oriented Research Group for developing emotional intelligence) of the University of Barcelona, Pedagogy Department. Lecturer for the Emotional Education Postgraduate Degree.
- Participation in the First Training Session for Officers in the project on «Local Initiatives for Employment and Improvement of Employability in the Service Sectors for People – ILO-SER 3″ by the Barcelona Regional Council, where social workers and trainers were given guidelines on boosting self-esteem and assertiveness in groups they work with.
- Design and implementation of coaching, training and coach-enhancement programmes. Coach supervision.
- Visiting Lecturer in the Corporación Santo Tomás de Chile (University, Technical Training Centres, etc.), within the MECESUP programme of the Chile Ministry of Education, for faculty development, entrepreneurship development in students and consulting for the faculty team. - Participation in the UNESCO University Training Chair, within its programme for training deans, vice-deans, managers, etc. in Spanish and Latin American universities.
